Chelsea legend Frank Lampard admits that he has no knowledgewhere John Terry will end up this summer.

The former England international has decided to take up a fresh challenge with a new club following his decision to turn down a proposed renewal at Chelsea. The 35-year-old is craving for regular first-team opportunities in the final stages of his career, and for this, he could possibly drop down a level ahead of next season. Aston Villa currently remain the favourites to secure a potential contract with the veteran, but Lampard is unsure what Terry’s next decision would be.

Lampard told Sky Sport News: “I speak to John fairly regularly but I don’t where he’s at at the moment. It’s a difficult decision for John because having been such a legend at Chelsea, he’s got to move on. I honestly don’t know what that is, whether it’s staying in the Premier League, whether it’s playing in the Championship or going abroad. What John’s one in his career is the story and wherever he does go he will bring a great deal to them with his presence and his personality.”

Terry had bagged five Premier League titles during his 22-year association with the west London giants, and this could probably rule out a move to a domestic rival in respect for his former club. However, Blues legend Frank Lampard did manage to return with Manchester City for a season-long loan, and there is an instance of this happening with Terry.

At present, the former Blues skipper has received a concrete offer from Championship club Aston Villa whose manager Steve Bruce was spotted having a game of golf with Terry in Portugal earlier this month. Villa’s city rivals Birmingham City are also keen on the experienced campaigner, and it could come to who manages to offer a better wage package in the end.
