John Terry is set to face no actions as a result of the latest assault claim. West Midlands Police confirmed that officers had decided to take no further action after viewing television footage of the incident during Chelsea's midweek match at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that a complaint of assault had been made by Wolves steward Patrick Steadman following Chelsea's 1-0 defeat at Molineux on Wednesday.

Mr Steadman told The Sun he had suffered whiplash and was considering taking legal action after being pushed in the chest as John Terry retrieved a ball which had gone out of play.
