Chelsea youth prospect Dylan Williams has been training with Thomas Tuchel’s first team after making a big impression since his arrival at the club, Goal.com are reporting. His impressive spell at the club has impressed legendary defender John Terry, after his performances helped keep Chelsea’s U23 side in the Premier League 2. Williams joined after breaking into Derby County’s first team earlier this season, making six Championship appearances before the Blues came calling.

Attacking strengths are almost the main priority when choosing a full-back these days, and Chelsea’s current English pair of Chilwell and Reece James sum that up better than any. The previously-slated academy system at the club has recently seen a flourish of first-team players develop, with Mason Mount leading a class of stars who have proven essential to the current crop at Stamford Bridge. With the aforementioned light at the end of the tunnel in terms of a route to the first team from the academy, the future is bright for Williams.
The club’s first team left-back position is one which could be scarce after this window, with Marcos Alonso and Emerson rumoured to be moving away. However, a loan deal could be the desired future for Williams before breaking into the first team for good, with him proving he can compete in the Championship potentially interesting a number of sides.
