Aston Villa head coach Dean Smith has expressed his pleasure after the west Midlands outfit registered a 5-1 Premier League win over Norwich City on the road. The Villains have been unlucky this season where they have squandered advantages at Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal but there was no repeat of the same at Carrow Road as they dominated the proceedings through the entire 90 minutes.

Wesley Moraes handed the Villains with a 2-0 advantage at the break with his brace and they continued the dominance after the interval with goals from Jack Grealish, Conor Hourihane and Douglas Luiz. The only negative was the poor defending leading up to Josip Drmic’s goal but Smith was nonetheless elated with the performance away from home.

He told in a press conference: "I think frustration has been the key word, our performances have been there and that result today is probably what we've deserved over the last few weeks. It's one game at a time like we've always said and it's pleasing that we've put in that performance and got that result today. To come here today and do that will give the lads an awful lot of confidence going into other away games."

With the result, the Villains have jumped out of the relegation places and they are currently on eight points. Next up, they are scheduled to face Brighton & Hove Albion at home after the international break and the game promises to be another entertainer. Brighton have generally been poor when it comes to the away performances but they have looked a different outfit under Graham Potter, who has urged the team to play rather than park the bus on the road.

The South Coast outfit recently registered a shock 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in their homeground and they are presently one point and one position ahead of Dean Smith’s side on the table.
