Chelsea legend John Terry has left his role as the assistant manager at Aston Villa to focus on his ambition of becoming a manager. The ex-Blues skipper left Villa at the start of the week.

John Terry was made odds-on favourite to take the Swansea City job once he became available on Monday but the report from The Athletic revealed that the English Championship team has a two-man shortlist for the job including Ex-Chelsea assistant manager Jody Morris. Morris will contest the job with MK Dons boss Russell Martin.Blues favourite Terry might need to wait for the start of the season to get back into the dugout with the Swansea City job the only managerial vacancy in the whole of the first two divisions of English club football (Premier League and English Championship).
Terry, 40, says he would spent some quality time with family before visiting clubs to continue his education towards becoming a manager. His dream job is to take charge of boyhood club Chelsea. Terry might not get the Chelsea job soonest after the club appointed another legend, Frank Lampard at the start of the penultimate league season. Lampard spent 18 months as Chelsea manager before he was sacked by the club in January after a poor run of results. His successor, Thomas Tuchel went on to win the Champions League.
