BENITEZ ON WAY OUT

The manager of Chelsea, Rafael Benitez, has admitted that he will not continue as Chelsea manager after this season, but, he refused to talk about his successor.

Benitez was appointed as Chelsea manager in November last year after the club had decided to sack Roberto Di Matteo because of a few losses.

There have been rumours since the last few weeks that Jose Mourinho might return to Chelsea as the manager. Mourinho himself said in one of his recent interviews that the English clubs love him and he might be returning to England in the next season.

WE MUST QUALIFY

John Terry has said that the players of Chelsea must make sure that the team will qualify for the Champions League of next season.

Chelsea was the winner of the Champions League in the last season. So, it qualified for the Champions League 2012-13 automatically despite finishing at no. 6 in the Premier League points table in the last season.

BENITEZ UNSURE ON TERRY

The Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has said that he is not sure when the captain and defender John Terry will be able to return to first-team action. The 32-year-old defender has been out of the first team action for a long time.

His last match was against Liverpool in the Premier league, in which he suffered a horrible collision with the Liverpool striker Luiz Suarez that has left him out of action for a long time. It was heavily expected that the defender will be part of the club's trip to Japan to play in the Club World Cup, but he failed to recover sufficiently in time.

TORRES NEARLY JOINED CITY

The Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed that the club became extremely close to signing the Liverpool striker Fernando Torres before Chelsea managed to sign the Spaniard for a British transfer record fee of £ 50 million in 2011.

TERRY MAKES FIRST TEAM

The manager of Chelsea, Roberto Di Matteo, surprised everyone by not including the team’s skipper, John Terry, in the starting line up in the match against Stoke City which was played at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Terry was expected to be a part of the first XI and everyone got surprised when Terry’s name didn’t appear in the list of the players who were going to start the match for Chelsea. The skipper came to play as substitute in the 89th minute of the match.

Chelsea captain and defender John Terry has said that he is happy to be back into the first-team of Chelsea with focus on winning the titles and nothing else. The England defender was alleged to have been guilty of racially abusing the QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

TERRY WANTS FA CUP WIN

Chelsea captain John Terry has said that he wants the players to perform exceptionally well in the FA Cup final against Liverpool and win the cup for interim manager Roberto di Matteo.

The Italian has done an excellent job since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas midway through the season.

TERRY ADMITS GOAL WAS WRONG

Following the impressive 5-1 win over Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-final, John Terry has said that the controversial goal scored by Juan Mata should have never stood.

The Chelsea captain also called for the goal-line technology to be introduced as soon as possible.

John Terry has handed a massive boost for Chelsea after declaring himself fit for the match against Tottenham. Terry was unavailable for the match against Manchester city in the midweek due to the knee problem surfacing once again, and no-one was quite sure when he'd be back.
