John Terry Had Been In Tears While Celebrating The Last Goal For Chelsea

No doubt, John Terry is Mr. Chelsea. The truth is that legacy here is going to continue forever. The last season of Terry at Stamford Bridge had also been pretty successful. This is another Premier League title which proved as an icing on the cake for the former player from England. As a matter of fact, the first goal against Watford had been an ideal way to celebrate it.

This goal had marked the 3 milestones. Firstly, it had been the 100th goal of this season for Chelsea. Moreover, it had been the 1000th goal for the club under Roman Abramovich, the owner.

Dean Smith pleased with Aston Villa’s defensive record

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has said that he is pleased with the defensive shape of the team despite their recent 5-5 draw against Nottingham Forest in their home turf. The Villains appeared to be distancing themselves from the playoff positions after a disappointing start under new boss Smith but they have managed to win four of their previous five matches to put themselves within three points off the top six.

In a report covered by BBC Sport, Smith highlighted that the Forest game was rather a fluke and besides that, the Villains have fared impressively at the back with four clean sheets from the previous eight league appearances, he said: “We've had four clean sheets in eight games so far. I've been happy with that. There were question marks last Wednesday night after the five goals by the back four and the goalkeeper. But Wednesday night was a freak. It's very rare you'll see five shots and five goals like that. I was told about the hard run coming up before the Derby County game, yet we've won three out of four and it should have been four out of four, as we should have beaten Forest.”

Frank Sinclair: Eden Hazard can’t do it on his own

Former Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair believes the Blues will struggle to genuinely challenge for the Premier League title unless the likes of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud chip in with the goals. The Belgium international has already excelled in the Blues shirt this term with seven goals across all competitions and six of them have come in the Premier League.

Speaking on Love Sport Radio, Sinclair hailed the strong showing from Hazard but does not feel the Belgian’s contribution is sufficient to spur a title charge. He added that Olivier Giroud is certainly not the striker to provide with 20 plus goals this term and the same goes for Alvaro Morata who has struggled to adapt to the English game.

John Terry hoping Kepa Arrizabalaga can emulate Petr Cech

Chelsea legend John Terry has wished Thibaut Courtois the best for his Real Madrid career and he is hoping that his replacement Kepa Arrizabalaga can be as successful at Petr Cech. Courtois had been desperate to make the return to Madrid to be closer to his children and he was eventually offered the move after the Blues struck a deal for Arrizabalaga.

Shortly after witnessing the Spaniard’s arrival, Terry took to Instagram to welcome Arrizabalaga, who he hopes can emulate Cech at the west London giants, he penned: “Good Luck Thibaut Courtois in your new chapter at Real Madrid. A great man and for me the best keeper in the world. We welcome Kepa Arrizabalaga to our club and hope he can be as successful as you as Petr Cech.”

Jorginho: Sarri’s mentality made me a better footballer

Chelsea’s summer signing Jorginho has hailed the influence of manager Maurizio Sarri towards his development. The Blues announced the appointment of Sarri as their new head coach last week and this was soon followed by the recruitment of Jorginho, who became the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to the Blues’ official website, Jorginho talked about the three years he spent under Sarri at Napoli and believes that the Italian’s mentality made him a better player on the field, he said: “When we were together at Napoli, it was a case of me taking on his mentality and putting that together with the characteristics I have as a footballer. I think I have the right characteristics as a footballer for the type of football that he likes to play, and the type of football that he teaches. ''He is right on top of everything that is going on the pitch. When the weekend comes around and you have a game, you start that game knowing how every situation is going to pan out.”

John Terry pays tribute to former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte

Chelsea legend John Terry has paid tribute to departed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte after helping him through a difficult period of his professional career. The 37-year-old was sparingly used during Conte’s first season at Stamford Bridge between 2016 and 2017 but he nevertheless ended his Blues career on a high after parting ways as a Premier League winner.

In a tribute on his official Instagram account, Terry thanked Conte for being honest in the judgement over his performances during his final year with the west London giants, he penned: “Love this man. Thanks for everything Boss. In a time that should have been the most difficult season of my career, Antonio was honest, respectful, and there for me whenever I needed him. I loved working and learning from him.”

Thibaut Courtois: Belgium need to show their best to win World Cup

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has suggested that Belgium need to show their best form in order to progress into the latter stages of the World Cup. The 26-year-old is currently with the Red Devils in Russia and he is expected to start between the sticks during his country’s opening game against Panama.

Speaking ahead of the match, he said: “We are more experienced now. My feeling is that everybody is sharp and ready for the World Cup. We have a group with players knowing each other very well. We are talented and we have to believe in ourselves. If we want to go far in this World Cup we have to be at our best.”

Aston Villa manager hails John Terry’s impact

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has hailed the impact of veteran defender John Terry over the course of the Championship season. The 37-year-old joined the Villains from Chelsea during the previous summer transfer window and he has since played a crucial role towards the club’s promotion hunt.

Speaking after the win over Middlesbrough, Bruce praised the qualities of Terry, who continues to deliver consistently despite approaching the latter years of his career. He said: “You’ve seen him out there, he [Terry] was brilliant, but it wasn’t just on the pitch that I needed him. It was to deal with the dressing room and it has been toxic, at Aston Villa, for years. It was important that people like Jack Grealish saw someone: this is how you do it. The way you look after yourself, this is what you prepare for. Glenn Whelan is the same. Elmohamady is the same. Jedinak is the same. All people who have been at the top level.”

It is in my contract (to stay) if we go up, and fingers crossed and touch wood we do, then I will be staying another year.”
