JOHN TERRY REVEALS ULTIMATE AMBITION

Chelsea legend John Terry has revealed his dream job in an exclusive interview with The Times. The ex-Blues skipper told the media outlet that his ultimate ambition is to manage Chelsea and that he’s ready to be a manager.

John Terry mentioned former Chelsea teammate and fellow Blues legend Frank Lampard as he pointed out how he did well in his first year at Chelsea. The former England national team centre back also talked about ex-Three Lions of England teammate Steven Gerrard and the good job he has done as the Rangers job. John Terry talked about how he was not ready when Gerrard and Lampard became top flight football managers and that the time is right for him to take charge of a team.

John Terry is currently the assistant manager at Aston Villa in the Premier League. He has been part of the coaching crew at Aston Villa under manager Dean Smith since he ended his playing career at the club. The Englishman spent one season with Villa as a player shortly after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of the 2016/17 campaign. He won the Premier League title with Chelsea in his final season at the club.

On the teams he won’t manage, John Terry said the Tottenham Hotspur job is a no-go area for him before adding that West Ham United fans won’t want him at their club as well. The Villa assistant manager is a Chelsea legend and he shared many battles with the London duo of West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

During his interview, the Blues legend also talked about the offers he has rejected during his time as the Villa assistant manager till date. He has been linked with a lot of teams in the past months including the Bournemouth. The former Chelsea defender was linked with the Cherries managerial job when Jason Tindall was sacked from the job earlier this season.

TERRY NAMES MOST UNDERRATED DEFENDER

Chelsea legend John Terry certainly knows a thing or two about defending as he built his football career on that aspect of the game. Terry was a very good defender during his playing days and this automatically qualifies him as one who could spot good defenders.

John Terry spoke recently about experienced Leicester City defender Jonny Evans and how the ex-Manchester United and West Bromman is easily the most underrated defender in the Premier League. John Terry talked about Evans just before the FA Cup final between his beloved Chelsea and Leicester City as reported by the Express.

John Terry warned Chelsea that Evans could be key to the Foxes and their FA Cup ambition.

Evans was a serious doubt ahead of the FA Cup final played at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening and he was able to make it for the game. The Northern Ireland international centre back had picked up an injury during the warm-up of the Foxes’ penultimate league game at home to Newcastle United.

Evans was missed by Leicester City as their Champions League bid suffered a big setback with the 4-2 loss at home to the Magpies. Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson was a thorn in the flesh of the Leicester City defenders throughout the game. His brace in the second half proved to be the difference between the two teams. Evans then missed the 2-1 away win over Manchester United last week Tuesday as the Foxes bounced back from the disappointing defeat to the Magpies.

Northern Irishman Evans was able to make the starting XI for the FA Cup final but he didn’t complete the first half due to injury. His team went on to beat Chelsea 1-0 in that final to win the trophy for the first time in their history courtesy the unstoppable strike from YouriTielemans.

MOUNT CAN EMULATE TERRY – CARRAGHER

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount can emulate the legendary status of John Terry at the club. The ex-Liverpool centre back talked about John Terry and Mount in his column for The Telegraph. According to the footballer turned Sky Sports pundit, Mount can tow the path of John Terry who came through the youth system at Chelsea to become a club legend.

Terry was part of the youth system at Stamford Bridge before he made his debut for the first team. He went on to captain the West London giants to several major titles including the 2011/12 Champions League title. He missed the final through suspension as the Blues got the better of Bayern Munich to win the competition for the first time. Chelsea defeated the Germans on penalties after they had played a 1-1 draw.

John Terry played the last season of his career at Aston Villa before he announced his retirement in the summer of 2018. He is presently the assistant to Villa manager Dean Smith.
Carragher believes in the immense talent that Mount has and that the England international can go on to become a club legend at Stamford Bridge.

22-year-old Mount has been the best attacking player at Chelsea this season. He came through the Blues academy before making his first team debut for the club. Mount spent some time on loan at Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie and at Derby County in the English Championship under then manager Frank Lampard.

Lampard gave Mount his breakthrough at Chelsea last season having worked with him during his time as the Derby County manager and he has grown to be a key player at the West London club. Mount was a key player for Lampard till he was sacked by Chelsea in January and he has remained a key player for his successor Thomas Tuchel.

TERRY ON SHEFFIELD UNITED RADAR

Aston Villa coach John Terry is reportedly one of the names being considered for the managerial job at Premier League outfit Sheffield United. According to the Daily Mirror, John Terry is on the radar of the Blades who are looking for a new manager after Chris Wilder left the club last month.

Wilder is a former Sheffield United player who became manager at the club. He was responsible for taking the Blades from League One football to Premier League football in a few years. Wilder masterminded an unlikely top half finish for Sheffield United at the end of their first season back in the Premier League last term.

However, they have not been able to maintain the same form this term with the team languishing in last place on the league table.

The Blades are almost certain to finish last on the table at the end of this season. They have just 14 points from 31 games and are a whooping 18 points from safety. Sheffield United are 10 points from West Brom who are second bottom on the league standings.

Wilder resigned from his position as the Blades boss shortly before the away trip to Leicester City last month with Paul Heckingbottom named as the caretaker manager till the end of the season. To this effect, the club needs a new manager for their campaign back in the Championship next season and John Terry could be the man for the job.

It was reported that the club wants a big name for the job and Terry fits the bill. The ex-Chelsea centre back played 78 times for England in addition to almost 500 games for the Blues. He became the assistant manager at Aston Villa shortly after ending his playing career at the club. He spent one year at Villa as a player immediately after his Chelsea career ended.

TERRY SENDS MESSAGE TO MOURINHO, OTHERS

Chelsea legend John Terry has sent a firm message to Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho and the others in the race for European football in the Premier League. John Terry sent the message via his official Instagram account after his Aston Villa side lost to Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham Hotspur players in a league clash played at Villa Park last week Sunday. In his words, John Terry said Aston Villa will regroup in a bid to get back to the form that will see the midlands club challenge for a place in European football next season. John Terry is the assistant manager to Aston Villa boss Dean Smith at Villa Park and the duo watched as Villa were on the end of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of visitors Spurs led by Jose Mourinho.

John Terry and Mourinho are no strangers to each other after they worked together over two spells at West London giants Chelsea. John Terry was the Chelsea captain while Mourinho was manager in two different spells. Under the guidance of Mourinho, John Terry was the Chelsea skipper and he lifted three Premier League titles.

John Terry spent the majority of his career at Chelsea before he left the club to play one more season at Aston Villa. The Blues legend became the club’s assistant manager shortly after the end of his brief playing stint at Villa Park. John Terry and Aston Villa are in 10th position on the league standings right now after a poor run of form mainly due to the absence of influential skipper and playmaker Jack Grealish.

Aston Villa have won just one league game without Grealish this season and they would be hoping to have him back for the final two months of the campaign starting from the visit of relegation threatened Fulham next weekend.

SHEFFIELD UNITED: TERRY IN CONTENTION

Chelsea legend John Terry is one of the favourites to land the Sheffield United job according to BetVictor. John Terry is currently the assistant manager to Dean Smith at Aston Villa and he had previously been linked with the manager’s job at both Derby County and Bournemouth. Terry was one of the names mentioned by the bookmakers when Derby County sacked Philippe Cocuwhile they were at the bottom of the English Championship. In the end, Wayne Rooney was named the permanent manager at Derby County after some weeks as interim boss. John Terry was also linked with the managerial job at Bournemouth when Jason Tindall was sacked earlier this year. In the end, Terry was overlooked in favour of Jonathan Woodgate, who has been named the Cherries manager until the end of this campaign.

Sheffield United are looking for a new permanent manager at the club after Chris Wilder was sacked at the end of last week. Chris Wilder was dismissed after he led the Blades to 22 defeats in the first 28 league games this term. Wilder is an icon amongst the Sheffield United supporters after he took the club from League One to the Premier League. He led the Blades to a top half finish in the league last season but was not able to replicate the successful of last season this term. Wilder left the Blades 12 points off the last safe place on the Premier League table but that has increased to 14 points after the latest set of games in the Premier League. Paul Heckingbottom was the u-23 manager at Sheffield United before club bosses appointed him as the man to take charge of the first team. Heckingbottom was in the dugout when the Blades were thumped 5-0 by the Foxes with the in-form Kelechi Iheanacho getting three goals. According to BetVictor, Paul Heckingbottom is the favourite to take over from Chris Wilder permanently ahead of John Terry, Martin O’Neill, Eddie Howe and Steve Bruce.

RICE RECEIVES HIGH PRAISE FROM TERRY

West Ham United star Declan Rice has received high praise from Chelsea legend John Terry after he played a big role in the win over Sheffield United last weekend. John Terry praised the performance of Declan Rice during the Sheffield United game in the Premier League last week Monday on Instagram in response to the post made by Declan Rice. The West Ham skipper for the game had posted how he opened the scoring for the Hammers in the 3-0 hammering of bottom team Sheffield United. Mark Noble is the current West Ham United skipper but Rice is his deputy and he wears the armband since Noble is not a regular feature in the West Ham United starting XI.

Declan Rice broke the deadlock for West Ham United against visitors Sheffield United from the penalty spot towards the end of the first half. New signing Jesse Lingard had won the penalty and he wanted to take it before Declan Rice asked the Manchester United loanee to leave it for him since he’s the designated penalty taker on the pitch in the absence of Mark Noble. That penalty was the first of the season for the Hammers.

John Terry knows a lot about Declan Rice, who can play as a centre back or as a central midfielder. John Terry was the Chelsea skipper when Declan Rice was released by the club. He signed for the Hammers on a free transfer and he has been in excellent form for the London club fighting with bigger teams in the quest to qualify for Champions League football next season. Apart from Declan Rice, the other goalscorersagainst Sheffield United were IssaDiop and right-back Ryan Fredericks, who came on as a second half substitute. The two goals came in the second half. The 3-0 win at home to Sheffield United preceded the impressive 2-1 home win over Jose Mourinho’sTottenham Hotspur. The win over Spurs took West Ham United into the driving seat for fourth place and a Champions League spot at the end of this campaign.
