In the end, Terry was overlooked in favour of Jonathan Woodgate, who has been named the Cherries manager until the end of this campaign.

Sheffield United are looking for a new permanent manager at the club after Chris Wilder was sacked at the end of last week. Chris Wilder was dismissed after he led the Blades to 22 defeats in the first 28 league games this term. Wilder is an icon amongst the Sheffield United supporters after he took the club from League One to the Premier League. He led the Blades to a top half finish in the league last season but was not able to replicate the successful of last season this term. Wilder left the Blades 12 points off the last safe place on the Premier League table but that has increased to 14 points after the latest set of games in the Premier League. Paul Heckingbottom was the u-23 manager at Sheffield United before club bosses appointed him as the man to take charge of the first team. Heckingbottom was in the dugout when the Blades were thumped 5-0 by the Foxes with the in-form Kelechi Iheanacho getting three goals. According to BetVictor, Paul Heckingbottom is the favourite to take over from Chris Wilder permanently ahead of John Terry, Martin O'Neill, Eddie Howe and Steve Bruce.
