Chelsea legend John Terry has heaped huge praises on the club's young midfielder Mason Mount and also made a huge statement about the youngster. Mount has been by far Chelsea's best player this season having continued his blistering form under new manager Thomas Tuchel in recent games.

Mount was an assured started under former manager Frank Lampard and even though many people called for the head of Lampard for always playing Mount despite having a wealth of more options on the bench, he got more used to playing his favorite star. Mount has now gradually become a mainstay in the Chelsea team and is also currently in the form of his life this season.

And now, John Terry has tipped the young midfielder for greatness, insisting that he is a future captain of both Chelsea Football Club and the England national team. In Chelsea's last FA Cup game against Luton which they played on the 24th of last month (January), Mount was handed the captain's armband, becoming the youngest player to have that privilege since John Terry himself had the opportunity to do so back in 2001.
Mason Mount, 22, is already a key player for both Chelsea and England at such a young age and has already earned himself 13 caps for the England national side since donning the Three Lions' shirt for the first time back in 2019. Terry was speaking on Instagram Live where he made the comments, saying that he believes 100 per cent that Mount is a future Chelsea captain. The Blues legend also said Mount is already miles above his Chelsea teammates and is the club's best player this season.
Terry said the fact that Mount can show leadership qualities at such a young age is enough reason for him to don the armband permanently in the future.
