Chelsea legend John Terry has revealed his next captain at the club if Cesar Azpilicueta leaves this summer. Spanish international Azpilicueta is the current Chelsea skipper, but his future at the club is in doubt as he has a few months left on his current contract. Also, Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona want to tempt him to return to his native Spain this summer. The Catalan giants are prepared to sign him on a free transfer.

John Terry spoke to Stadium Astro about Chelsea recently and he touched on the captaincy. In his opinion, Mason Mount would be a perfect fit for the role of the captain if Azpilicueta was to depart the West London club in the summer. John Terry believes that England international Mount has the ability to grab the game by the neck and that the Chelsea supporters would be able to relate to the midfielder since he's one of them. Mount started his youth team career at Chelsea and he has been able to establish himself as one of the most important players in the team over the course of the last three seasons.

Mount showed his quality when he scored the opening goal in the 3-2 win at the home of Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League round of eight tie, but the result was not enough to send the Blues into the next round after the poor result from the first leg. In the first leg, Real Madrid beat Chelsea 3-1 in front of their home fans thanks to the treble from Ballon d'Or favourite Karim Benzema. The result from the second leg ensured that Real Madrid sealed a quarterfinal spot via a 5-4 win on aggregate.
With his goal against Madrid on Tuesday, Mount has now scored three goals in his last two matches in all competitions. He scored two goals in the 6-0 win at Southampton in the league on Saturday.
