Chelsea legend John Terry couldn't hide his excitement for former team Aston Villa after they made a big coup with the signing of Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho last week. John Terry posted on his Instagram account with the caption ‘What a signing’ when Aston Villa confirmed the deal.

Ex-Chelsea defender John Terry is back at the West London club in a consultancy role and he would be working with the academy players. The Englishman was previously the assistant manager to Dean Smith at Aston Villa until he made the decision to quit the role at the start of this season. Terry took the coaching role at Villa shortly after ending his playing career at the club.

John Terry was delighted that Villa were able to pull off the signing of a quality player like Coutinho who has joined on loan from Spanish giants Barcelona until the end of the season. In addition, Aston Villa have the option to make the loan deal a permanent one in the summer.

Coutinho has been able to make an instant impact since returning to the Premier League last week Tuesday after a four-year absence. He was a Liverpool player before Catalan giants Barcelona snapped him up for £142m during the 2018 winter transfer window to make him the third most expensive player till date behind the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) duo of Neymar and KylianMbappe.

Brazil international Coutinho came off the bench for his Aston Villa debut at the weekend and he was able to score the goal that rescued a point for his new team. The midfielder came on for Frenchman Morgan Samson with Villa trailing 2-0 to Manchester United at home. Young Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey pulled one back before Coutinho completed the comeback via his goal with nine minutes left. It took him just 14 minutes to make his mark.
